Dusk is designed with privacy as a foundational principle. The App operates completely offline on your device. We do not collect, process, transmit, store, or sell any personal data, device identifiers, location data, or usage analytics.

• We do not collect or transmit any personal information, names, or email addresses.
• We do not track your device location or monitor your app usage.
• The app functions 100% offline without requiring internet connectivity.

Permissions Required and Their Usage

To provide core night-light filtering and screen dimming features, Dusk requests specific Android system permissions. These permissions are used strictly on your device for their stated purposes:

• Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to render a customizable amber/dark overlay across your screen to filter blue light and lower display brightness below standard system limits.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required to display a persistent status bar notification for quick access to toggling the screen filter, adjusting intensity levels, and receiving schedule alerts.
• Run at Startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Required to automatically re-enable your preferred night filter settings when your device restarts.
• Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Required to trigger automatic night light activation and deactivation precisely at your configured schedule times.
• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): Required to keep the screen overlay active in the background continuously without uninterrupted shutdown by the operating system.

How We Use Information

Because we do not collect any personal information, we do not use your data for advertising, tracking, marketing, or profiling. All preferences are processed locally on your device:

• Saving user preferences such as filter mode (Dim Light, Blue Light Filter, Advanced RGB Filter), intensity slider levels, custom RGB values, schedule times, and clock format settings.
• Managing auto-schedules and daily reminder notifications locally.

Data Storage and Security

All user configurations and app settings are stored locally and securely on your device using Android DataStore / Preferences. This data is never uploaded to any remote servers, cloud infrastructure, or external third parties.

Third-Party Services

Dusk does not integrate any third-party ad networks, analytics platforms, or external tracking SDKs. Your app interactions remain entirely private to your device.

Data Retention

Your saved settings and schedule preferences remain stored on your device for as long as Dusk is installed. You can delete all local app data at any time by clearing the App's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.

Your Rights and Choices

• You can grant or revoke optional system permissions at any time via Android System Settings.
• You can reset all app settings by clearing the App's data in system settings.
• You can completely remove all local data by uninstalling Dusk.

Children's Privacy

Dusk does not knowingly collect or request any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any modifications will be updated on this page with a revised effective date.
